OREO x POkémon

To celebrate Pokémon’s 25th anniversary,

we made an entire campaign out of OREO cookies.

…and useD online fan and collector culture to create the most expensive cookies ever.

We launched with a social film made entirely out of Oreos, which featured an all-new Pokémon Trainer capturing her first Pikachus.

Each frame was hand-drawn by cel-frame artists, then digitally converted into Oreo cookies.

We created 16 Pokémon embossments, with one critically important detail… some cookies were rarer than others. And just like the Pokémon universe, Mew was the rarest of them all.

It became the first-ever cookie rarity scheme, and fans loved it. Really, really, really loved it.

To SAY FANS LOST THEIR MIND… Is Putting it mildly

People resold the cookies for thousands of dollars on eBay.

Not just listed, sold. I personally know a few people who resold their packs for absurd amounts.

Our cookies became a question on Jeopardy.

Steven Colbert even made an animated musical segment about our cookies.
And we didn’t pay him to do it.

OUT OF HOME

We also created a Billboard out of 8,300 3D-printed, realistic OREOS.
